Type 2 Diabetes and Foods; Anti-inflammation Foods

 Inflammation. It is familiar sound when we got a injury, a bug bite or a skin infection. you will see swelling in the affected area. Also red skin, and pain.


With Type 2 diabetes, inflammation is occurring internally.


Scientists are only beginning to understand the role this form of internal inflammation may play in the development of chronic diseases like Diabetes. 


The Anti-inflammatory diet can also contribute to chronic inflammation. And some foods have anti-inflammatory properties. However, an anti-inflammatory diet by itself is not effective at preventing diabetes; unless it leads to weight loss.


Weight loss and increased physical activity can have strong anti-inflammatory effects and both are important for reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes.


Foods with natural anti-inflammatory effect include:

  • Healthy fats like omega-3 fatty acids, olive oil, flaxseed oil, and canola oil

  • Avocados

  • Walnuts

  • Most fruits and vegetables, like oranges, tomatoes, and leafy greens
